Amoy were introduced to us through our work with Heinz, they had an ageing website that wasn’t meeting the brand marketing needs and they lacked a clear digital strategy. The old website didn’t work on mobiles, the products were out of date, there was no social media and the team at Amoy couldn’t update it.

First things, first, Maglabs created a digital strategy that prioritized the issues.

We knew that we had to concentrate on getting the brand site and customer experience fixed. We did this quickly and cost effectively by using the templates that we had created for Heinz. Once the customer experience was fixed it quickly started showing improved results with increased traffic and customer engagement. We then could work on the content marketing and social strategy.

The final phase was to integrate the website seamlessly into the Heinz infrastructure and add Sitecore content management. The Amoy website, social and content marketing strategy are now at the heart of the Amoy marketing strategy.

When Heinz was looking to shake up the sauces category with the launch of its new Seriously Good Mayonnaise range, they came to Maglabs Digital to help activate the digital element of the 2016 launch.

Maglabs produced a product website for Seriously Good Mayonnaise and a 'Money back' promotional micro site that allowed customers to claim the cost of a jar back should they not be totally satisfied.

The CRC has grown to be a global portal connecting 40 countries across 3,000 stores - and counting.

The portal allows latest campaign artwork, store designs, operational manuals and fresh menu ideas to be shared with all of the Costa retail outlets.

Built using responsive design, the CRC also manages key activities ranging from video streaming of training materials and supply chain order processing, to hour-by-hour tracking and auditing of franchise store revenues around the world, whilst simultaneously communicating to their global finance system.

A dedicated Maglabs service team supports the CRC and the result is a coordinated brand strategy, executed locally, consistently, and under complete central control. This has decreased the time it takes for brand assets to be sent to market and ensures the DNA of the Costa Coffee brand is maintained across the entire Costa estate.

Messy like spaghetti...

A while ago Heinz asked Maglabs Digital, to pop over and take a look at www.heinz.co.uk as well as a host of other Heinz European and brands websites. Heinz had been using loads of different agencies across their brands and markets which had resulted in a mish mash of customer experiences, brand inconsistencies and loads of different technologies. Working like this meant there was a duplication of effort and costs and no clear digital strategy.

Could Maglabs help sort it out? You bet we could!

Getting the Hoops in a row..

The first task was get the technology sorted. Maglabs worked with Heinz’s IT team in the US to implement a single technology that could be supported (Sitecore CMS). We spoke their language and we got on great. (but that’s a whole separate case study)

Once the tech was sorted we could focus on the strategy. We worked closely with the central marketing team to ensure all of their requirements would be delivered. We knew that the new site had to be the hub of any future marketing campaign, it needed to be mobile, integrated with social and be aligned with any packaging and promotional material. It had to be modular so that it could be used across all brands and provide detailed tracking and reporting.

We also knew that the marketing team would want quick turnarounds and the flexibility to update and change content quickly.

So did it work? It certainly did!

The solution ticked all of the boxes, it delivered a brilliant consistent customer experience, it provided significant costs savings and is currently being rolled out across Europe with Ireland, Italy, Netherlands and Germany leading the way. ..and, yes, we know it’s a cliché but it really has been a partnership with Heinz constantly evolving providing additional solutions, our relationship with Heinz goes from strength to strength.

NBC creates amazing sports content that it distributes worldwide, however this content had traditionally been represented using Powerpoint. This led to numerous problems that included slow response times, version control issues and image & file size problems. NBC had a fractured brand experience when selling sporting events and content. NBC asked Maglabs if they could come up with a winning game plan.

Being a digital agency we shifted the content online to a cloud based solution, why? Quite simply it solved all of the problems and allowed us to create some great features. This meant that we now had a platform that;

We also knew that because NBC have such a variety of content a personalised solution, tailored to the customers need would provide better cut through. We used an Umbraco CMS to keep everything easy and neat and provide crucial success metrics.

Grow your own - On pack to Facebook - 2015

When Heinz was looking to remind people that every squeeze of its tomato ketchup contains a quarter of a tomato it came to Maglabs Digital to activate it’s 2015 ‘Grow your Own’ on pack campaign.

Building on the success of the previous year’s campaigns, it wanted to re-engage families in UK, France, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Spain, Portugal & Ireland by encouraging them to participate in a tomato growing experience. Maglabs Digital activated the on pack promotion via a dedicated ‘Grow Your Own’ Heinz Tomato Ketchup page where customers could request a packet of seeds.

Fans across Europe requested all of the free 500,000 limited edition ‘Grow Your Own’ packets of tomato seeds.

Winter Warmers - In store / eCRM - Europe wide - 2015

Heinz was looking to prepare customers for cold weather by launching its Winter Warmers campaign. The creative for the campaign, which will run throughout retailers, shows staples of the Heinz brand, including cream of tomato soup, baked beans and spaghetti hoops wrapped up in winter hats and scarves.

The creative was activated with a Free prize draw and Maglabs Digital created the website that allowed customers to enter. Using the Bar codes on 3 products in the Winter Warmers range customers could instantly win a range of prizes that included winter holiday to Iceland to see the Northern lights

The campaign was a huge success attracting a record number of entrants.

Afterschool Heroes – On Pack, digital activation and instant win - 2015

After the 2015 school holidays Heinz wanted to make teatimes super with the launch of its ‘After School Heroes’ an on pack completion with a digital entry to promote quick and easy meals that the kids will love.

Featuring Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman on pack, Heinz looked to the team of digital super heroes at Maglabs Digital to provide the digital activation piece. The campaign, which ran for 12 weeks, featured a competition to win prizes including 1,000 goodie bags, 1,000 DC Comics DVDs and one lucky winner was in the chance to win a family holiday to Los Angeles.

The solution used an Instant win mechanic but to tie in with the theme this was linked to the time of day. The campaign was a huge success collecting entrants across Europe.
